Barbara Brackman Catalogs Some Hexagon Quilts

Barbara Brackman, known as a quilt historian as well as a fabric designer, book publisher and BOM leader for the Civil War and other historic eras, has a new blog. She calls it Cloud of Quilt Patterns, because she’s posting them in the cloud and hoping they trickle down. That’s her phrasing.

The post I’ve linked goes to Hexagon quilts, and there are quite a few photos, including some close-ups. This is the first pattern post, so I’m still puzzling over why it’s called “Tessellations: Hexagons 3— Medallions”, but it is. Maybe it has something to do with her published indices? Here’s a close-up example from her post:

She’s going to post something every month as she indexes patterns. I don’t know how many will be paper-pieced examples, of course, but the first one is!
